Rogers rings up 75% profit gain

Toronto — — Rogers Communications Inc. said third-quarter profit gained 75 per cent amid strong demand for its cellphone services. Profit climbed to $269-million, or 42 cents a share, in the three months ended Sept. 30, from $154-million, or 24 cents, in the year-earlier quarter. Revenue rose 13 per cent to $2.61-billion from $2.3-billion.
