Dion vows to cut poverty levels

TORONTO — Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion has promised to reduce the number of Canadians living below the poverty line by 30 per cent over five years if elected prime minister. He also said Friday that a federal Liberal government would halve the number of children living in poverty over the same time frame.
