MONTREAL — When Formula One upstart Robert Kubica's BMW broke into pieces after hitting a cement barrier during the Canadian Grand Prix in June, the Polish driver was airlifted to Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur in Montreal's north end, far from the Gilles Villeneuve racetrack and several closer hospitals in the city's downtown core.
