Religious faith, democratic freedom and Mitt Romney's flagging campaign
WASHINGTON — For Mitt Romney, the more that religion informs politics, the better."The founders proscribed the establishment of a state religion, but they did not countenance the elimination of religion from the public square," the former governor of Massachusetts eloquently declared yesterday in a campaign-defining speech that aimed to rescue his faltering bid for the Republican nomination.
