The Sopranos finally ended, with a controversial fade to black that actually worked. Few important TV series have managed to end with grace and suitable gravity, and creator David Chase chose the best route: The real ending for Tony Soprano was left to your imagination. Chase knew all the options, and knew they were all pat endings.
