Rob C from Canada writes: Pierre McGuire is a media whore and should be ashamed of himself for being away from his family year after year every Christmas. Your kids are only young once. You'll never be considered for father of the year, bub. I honestly don't know how someone can do that to their family. BTW: there is lots of better talent than him at TSN who deserve a chance to cover that event. However these are the guys that hired tie dummi as an on air "personality". It is the best sports network, despite some questionable decisions. It remains no.1 only because Sportsnet is so absolutely gawdawful (they do have good looking women there now - a cheap attempt at garnering an audience, but I am in love with the beautiful blonde woman, whose name always escapes me)....however, all that said - I am looking forward to the games.

Radio Guy from Toronto, Canada writes: I think the above comments are a bit bizarre.
Any family can celebrate Christmas a few days early or a few days late. As for Sportsnet being awful... Jim Hughson is one of the top two announcers in Canada, and he does 60 games a year on Sportsnet.
The problem I have with McGuire is that he either whispers (see game 1 of the Super Series last summer) or screams like a lunatic (see game 7 of the same series). How about something in between, just once?
I try to watch the games on TSN, and listen to the Fan 590. Dan Dunleavy is excellent. Jack Miller is good, but always talks too much just like he does on Belleville Bulls games. At least he doesn't scream like McGuire. They are much better than the TSN crew.- Posted 23/12/07 at 1:44 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment
