  1. Stewed Ham from toronto, Canada writes: Wow, Kenya has 42 tribes, only a couple less than Canada thanks to the multi-tribalism policies from the 1970's to current date.
  2. otmar zambo from Canada writes: wouln't it be a big surprise if an african country woul have an election which would be free of fraud. did anyone expect anything else?
  3. Kathleen Degelder from Tacoma USA, Canada writes: Stewed Ham: You are correct. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms is confusing at best. Maybe Parez would still be alive today if her father wasn't protected under the Charter. Meanwhile the news article about Pakistan and Bhutto is closed for comments.
  4. Jack Robinson from London, Canada writes: Given the horrorshow in Pakistan today... a nuke-armed, despotically Bush-backed cauldron of engineered Muddled East meltdown... this measured dispatch from the 'tribally-conflicted' yet spiritually-engaged Dark Continent' seems almost Conradian in both irony and import.

And yet, judging from the nature and number of comments posted... unworthy of our First World Wonder Bread interest.
  5. Jack Ryan from VictoriaSaskatoon, Canada writes: Interesting approach to having so many different tribes. It doesn't allow one or two tribes to dominate and forces a president to represent the whole country. I think it's a great idea.

Though if Canada's elections were done the same, the Liberals still would have won under Trudeau and Chretien because in spite of ignoring/villifying the west, we only count for 4 provinces.
  6. Gary Thomson from Surrey, BC, Canada writes: Yes, so many tribes, but all tribes are not equal. Who are the Kikuyu backing? They always seem to back the winner.
