The assassination of Benazir Bhutto cements Pakistan's reputation as the most dangerous country in the world. Ostensibly an ally of the United States and its "war on terror," Pakistan remains the leading training ground for Islamic militants. Border areas are rife with them - Afghan (Taliban), home-grown (so-called neo-Taliban) and Arab (al-Qaeda) - who move across the border with Afghanistan, where they fuel the insurgency that Canadian and other NATO forces are trying to quell.
