The United States remained perfect at the world junior hockey championships with a 3-2 win over Russia on Saturday.
At Liberec, Czech Republic, Tyler Ruegsegger, James vanRiemsdyk and Mike Carman scored to help the United States improve to 3-0 in Group B.
Alexei Cherapanov and Viktor Tikhonov scored for Russia.
The United States leads the group with nine points, Russia remains on six.

In Group A action in Pardubice, Czech Republic, the host Czech team beat Slovakia 5-2. With one more group game to play, Slovakia and Kazakhstan have no chance to advance to the quarter-finals and will play in the relegation round.
Jakub Sklenar scored twice for the Czechs and Michael Frolik had his fourth tournament goal as the hosts jumped to a commanding 4-0 lead in the second period.
The Slovaks then answered with Oliver Duris at 38:17 and Erik Caladi made it 4-2 on a power play goal. Martin Latal gave the Czechs the final goal 2:07 later.
