Italian justice minister quits over arrest order for wife

ROME — Italy's justice minister quit on Wednesday over an arrest order for his politician wife, a move that could threaten Prime Minister Romano Prodi's government because it depends on his party for a majority in parliament. “I am resigning because between love for my family and for power, I choose the former,” Clemente Mastella said in a speech to parliament after the arrest order was issued as part of a corruption investigation.
