Tories say Dion pledges would force Ottawa back into deficit

OTTAWA — Liberal spending promises would push Ottawa into deficit and rack up $62.5-billion in debt, the Conservatives alleged yesterday in a pre-election bid to undermine confidence in Stéphane Dion's ability to manage public finances during uncertain economic times. As Tories prepare for the possibility that the Dion Liberals will trigger an election by defeating the Feb.
