Payment will keep transit plan on track

VICTORIA — Finance Minister Carole Taylor defended as wise spending a $370-million budget down payment on the province's ambitious $14-billion transit agenda as some environmentalists suggested it's small change in a carbon-gas savvy world. Jane Sterk, head of the B.C. Green Party, suggested there was not enough money in the budget for transit, and that too much was being focused in the Lower Mainland.
