Sandra Brunetti from Fraser Valley, Canada writes: Good for you, Nicolas Sarkozy. Our former PM Jean Chretien would have
wrestled this guy to the ground or punched him out. I like this fellow, he is pro
North America and he will help Canada out in Afghanistan. Go Nico go......- Posted 24/02/08 at 7:24 PM EDT | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Auroran Bear from Montreal, Canada writes: The guy was asking for it. All he had to do was not shake hands, end of story. Sarkozy really needs to fine tune his people skills. He's had two run in with voters, yelled at the media when they followed him on holiday and stormed off the 60 minutes set during an interview last year. Welcome to the spotlight Sarko.

Kevin McDougald from Winnipeg, Canada writes: Given Sarkozy's notoriously hot temper, one wonders whether the French president's closest advisors tell him the truth and give him all the facts, or simply tell him what he wants to hear.
If history is any guide, those advisors are likely more concerned with not incurring the boss' wrath, and are either withholding things or being nuanced when bluntness is called for.
That could be bad news for Sarkozy's presidency, and for France.- Posted 24/02/08 at 8:19 PM EDT | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Badges? We don't need no stinking badges from Canada writes: Reminds me of when our former Prime Minister Chretien, wearing dark sunglasses, grabbed a protester and shoved him aside.

Jabber Wocky from Canada writes: Oh come on, you guys have to give Jean some credit, the guy who got in his way had intentionally thwarted security in order to get in his way. And it lead to one of my favourite Chretien soundbites, " 'E was in my way, so I 'ad to take 'im out" - Right up there with the pepper-spray-steak comment and entitled-to-entitlements.
