D Chris from Calgary, Canada writes: DUHATSCHEK doesn't want to say who won and lost, but couldn't he at least say SOMETHING/ANYTHING about how he views the trades today, for example:
1) who will have lost if they do anything short of win the cup (e.g. in my eyes, Penguins), and
2) who won irregardless (e.g. in my eyes, the Thrashers).

Kevin Cochrane from Clear Lake, Manitoba, Canada writes: Yeah, that column was a little fluffy although Eric is not one of those types that like to make bold predictions about Cup winners and such. He is right about the west though and I think the eastern based hockey media types are waking up to the fact that the west is bordering on twice as good as what passes for teams in the east.

Rtab 2 from Canada writes: D Chris: I agree with your conclusions about the Pens and the Thrashers. Shero was smoking I don't know what but the price he paid for Hossa & Dupuis appears to be awfully high. A first rounder, plus Esposito, who went in the 1st round less than a year ago, plus two promising roster players? If Crosby & co. don't make it to at least round 4, I'd imagine Pens fans'll be peeved. Waddell will be confirmed as chief NHL bandit.
And from the nitpicking department, fyi: "irregardless" does not exist in English, it's just regardless.- Posted 28/02/08 at 10:00 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment
