B.C.'s mastering the art of getting serious about culture

Buried in the excitement about B.C.'s landmark "green budget" was an announcement that suggests that the country's most westerly provincial government is finally getting serious about culture. At the end of a budget that was strong on climate change, the economy, health care, education and housing, Finance Minister Carole Taylor announced: "To honour our 150th birthday as a province, we are creating a new, $150-million BC150 Cultural Fund.
