  1. Patrick King from Canada writes: Quote
Asked why he had appeared to deny a report last week that such a meeting had taken place, Mr. Obama said: “That was the information I had at the time.”
    Unquote

That reply from Barrack Hussein Obama sounds familiar. Yes, Hillary Rodham Clinton has said repeatedly that she has voted for the Iraqi war based on the information she had at the time. Obama never ceases to hammer Hillary for "poor judgement", now Obama himself has shown his own poor judgement by denying a meeting that in fact has taken place.

CTV News has actually reported on this last week. The wording that Obama's adviser used, as quoted by CTV News, are "It's just campaign rhetoric,... it is not serious." It was referring to Obama's allegation during the debate in Ohio last week that he would opt out of NAFTA.

We now know more about Barrack Hussein Obama - that his judgement is at least as poor as Hillary Rodham Clinton; he is a hypocrite; and he is as absorbed in Washington Politics as any old guard.

Voters, if you are ready for change, let's get real. Vote for the sex change - Hillary Clinton.
  2. Auroran Bear from Montreal, Canada writes: NO way, a politician who said something just to get elected?????

If you think any voters in Ohio will have seen this story much less care about it, think again!
  3. Kathleen Degelder from Tacomawashington, Canada writes: More Nafta campaign rhetoric in Ohio? Nafta is unpopular in Ohio the news article states--- Obama is said to believe in free trade and is not a protectionist--quite the balance to walk.---
  4. Violet Eichhorn from Vancouver, Canada writes: In my humble opinion, the First Nation peoples should secede from the Euro-Settlers/colonists and their governments.

This is Turtle Island and has always been since contact; the Euro-Colonists know this, but rob the First Nation peoples' of their land and resources; that's the thank you the First Nation peoples have received since you robbing monsters arrived on Turtle Island.

You Colonists can have the Northwest Territories, and we will take the rest of Turtle Island, which belongs to the Firsts Nation peoples to began with, even your Parliament buildings are on our land.

Put that under your wigs, because the First Nation peoples have had enough of your oppressive lying propoganda and violence.

NAFTA is not just an issue for lumber producers and such, the whole international role of Canada would suffer if the treaty were renegotiated.

Preserving NAFTA is crucial for our ability to attract new immigrants. Currently one of the biggest draws of Canada for them is that after three years immigrants can obtain Canadian citizenship and as New Canadians can move to the US under the NAFTA TN Visa.

If NAFTA were renegotiated and TN Visas discontinued, Canada would suffer a major blow internationally as an immigration magnet.

It's hardly a benefit for Canada to have citizens working in the USA where Canada no longer gets to tax them as citizens.

And rest assured that if the Americans opened NAFTA, they'd also be looking at other means of clamping down on the ability of people to get into the US to work at all. The political rhetoric driving the argument right now is aimed at providing more jobs for existing Americans, not immigrants hoping to get there.
  7. Yussi M from Canada writes: Re: Auroran Bear

Not quite - under the present system Canada still gets to keep immigrants for about four years until they obtain Canadian citizenship. And also it's not like all immigrants leave after those four years, it's just that if they are provided with that option, that makes it easier for Canada to attract them in the first place.

    McCain will kick Obama's butt.

The Democrat nomination is a freak show.

    American Idol goes to Washington.
  10. Eric Stewart from Canada writes: What hypocrisy... 'protect workers'? Let's pull out of NAFTA unless the USA protects the millions of 'illegals' who work for next to nothing.
  11. N. American from New York, United States writes: Hmmm... What if it's Harper making that call at 3:00am in the morning?

Its funny to read about Canada into toady's election coverage down here today... I would assume the response of most US voters will be: "Hey, what's a Canada? Does it get good mileage?"

Prediction: Tonight Clinton wins both Texas and Ohio by the slimmest of margins; Obama takes more delegates from the Texas thanks to the weird caucus thing they do AFTER the primary vote; he virtually ties in delegate count in Ohio and comes away from the night with a numbers victory enhanced by wins in Vermont and another delegate tie in Rhode Island... Clinton does NOT see her shadow and there's six more long weeks of the Clinton tearing down the Democratic Party.

    Florida and Michigan loom large.
  12. J Din from Canada writes: So Canada is willing to help a hopeful to hide his staffs mistakes. To be expected since with Bush we did act like he knew what his staff were doing with the decision to invade Iraq? (Saddams posturing and bosting was of no help) Hindsight ? But are Americans ready for more incompetent staff supporting their president? by the way, look up todays Hot Air site-They are not at all supportive of ANY candidate's mistake. Following 's a quote from there. "Hmmm. It appears that the local press has managed to do what the national media could not — treat Obama as a politician and not a secular messiah. They asked tough questions about Obama’s political connections to a fixer and his campaign’s outright false answers on an Obama adviser’s contacts with Canadian diplomats regarding Obama’s rhetoric on NAFTA. Instead of handling the questions calmly and patiently, Obama accused the media of having an agenda against him, and then angrily stalked off. Compare this to the press conference John McCain held after the New York Times smeared him by accusing him of having a sexual affair with a lobbyist. Not only did McCain — whose temper has its own zip code, according to some Capitol Hill staffers — give a lengthy and reserved statement, but then stood at the podium until the reporters ran out of questions. In fact, at the end, McCain had to ask twice whether anyone had anything else to ask him before leaving the podium. By my count, McCain answered 36 questions in this press conference. How many did Obama take before walking off in a huff? Many people profess concern that McCain lacks the proper temperament for the presidency. Instead, they should wonder just how a President Obama would deal with the press and with the accountability that comes with the office. If today’s press conference gives any indication, it looks like Obama has some temper and judgment issues of his own — or that the questions strike a little too close to home.
  13. Rosco Pico Train from Canada writes: Should Obama win tonight, expect payback. Imagine the comparisons Canadians will draw between Harper and Obama...it's one of the reasons Conservatives in this country are so eager to go to the polls now.
  14. jer greene from montreal, Canada writes: Remember that the minority governing Conservatives, just after being elected, replaced all consul generals and ambassadors with their own appointed stooges. Does it show now? More circus to follow, I assure you!

Anyone who knows how things work in politics also knows that the Conservatives in this country interfered in the campaign. No one in there right mind would release such information claiming that one candidate is just playing politics with this issue. Like I said, if Obama wins he will at some point return the favour. Perhaps he will link his environmental plans with Alberta's tar sands in one of his speeches.
