  1. Robert P from Canada writes: The one negative to outsource based services like these is that all data is stored off premis in a shared datacenter... most likely in the states. Not only is security an issue but even though your company is Canadian your data now (if hosted in the US) comes under the eye of the US Government (via the Patriot ACT).

    So the question is not just how safe are these sites against attacks from the competition and your clients data but will your data be scanned by the US government.

    Just something that NetSuite doesn't talk about that a business owners may want to consider. Perhaps a Canadian hosted site by a Canadian owned (not sub) company may be an option (if available).

    With the USA's state of affairs in regards to privacy I would imagine any business owner who is concerned about ensuring private data remain private would think twice prior to placing that data in harms way by subjecting it to the current invasive laws in the United States.
