Rural Quebec feels sting of loss
MONTREAL They were both young and from small-town Quebec and, like all firefighters, ran toward danger when others run from it. And yesterday, both were mourned.Firefighters from across Canada gathered to pay their respects to a 26-year-old firefighter in one Quebec community, just as another tried to come to terms with the death of an 18-year-old novice.
Mathieu Émond and André Manseau died within days of one another.
