Bank targets widespread debit-card scam

Several hundred Toronto-Dominion debit cards have been withdrawn and replaced over the past three weeks, the bank said yesterday.All had been used to buy goods at a single downtown retail outlet that TD spokesperson Kelly Hechler would not identify because it is part of a fraud investigation. She said it has since been shut down. In some instances, it's feared the cards were "skimmed," meaning the data were captured.
