Andrew Berthoff from Toronto, Canada writes: "Will depend on his pain tolerance"?! I'm all for players being gamers, but I wonder if this sort of comment from the GM is smart. Are Jays who are coming off of injuries feeling pressure from Ricciardi to come back too soon or silently playing through injuries?
Evidence over the years suggests that these kinds of veiled threats from the GM might be a problem, resulting in catostrophic long-term injuries. See Jansen. See Ryan. See Johnson.
Perhaps the Jays under Ricciardi aren't simply "snake-bit" by injuries, as he and Gibbons so commonly say. Perhaps there's an underlying problem that's a root cause.- Posted 24/03/08 at 7:50 PM EDT | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

R. M. from Regina, Canada writes: HE (Rolen) RIPPED THE NAIL OFF AND DID MORE DAMAGE??? The Jays obviously have an incompetent training staff. I have watched numerous times when a player is injured he is swarmed by coaches and trainers but doesn't seem to be the Jays!
