  1. Amanda Parsons from Etobicoke, Canada writes: I read this article after reading Geoffrey York's article, "Why Tibet is boiling over" and "China admits shooting protestors in self defense" in the Friday 21 March 2008 print edition. Although I admit the Chinese government's treatment is appalling and that some measures should be taken to aid the Tibetans, boycotting the Olympics will not solve this delicate situation. I agree with Amnesty International and the German government in their stance that sports and politics are two seperate entities.
  2. Martyn Whitt from Canada writes: Amanda Parsons from Etobicoke, I take exception to your last line, "that sports and politics are two seperate entities". The Nazi regime that hosted the 1936 Olympics didn't get that memo (a glaring example), moreover thuggish dictatorships don't get many memo's and they wouldn't adhere to them if they did.
