Base metals buoyed by weak U.S. dollar

LONDON — Industrial metals bounced on Tuesday, buoyed by a weaker U.S. dollar and investors returning to the market to seek bargains after last week's correction. Copper for delivery in three months on the London Metal Exchange, a key gauge of real economic activity, was untraded at the close, but quoted at $8,075/8,080 (U.S.) per tonne, up 3 per cent from Thursday's $7,840.
