mahcus dahling from van city, Canada writes: hmm, so four years of trumpeting and passing oh so rigorous philosophy, geography and sociology courses, a couple of arts courses, some hits from the bong and 12 months of business flim-flam (ahem, "Strategy") and bam = MBA. Not bad! I spent four years passing courses in vomit inducing calculus, sickening stats, various levels of skull squeezing economics, mind numbing accounting of all kinds (you know what I'm talking about if you've taken and Equities or a Consolidations course) and gut wretching finance; there are no MBA schools that'll take me because I know too much and experienced too little. But hey, at least I learned a lot, right? I wish Iwould have opted for the easy way out when choosing a major, at least now I could apply for an MBA no problem, instead of trying to aim high with my undergrad which only has limited my options... Seems fair though, hand out MBAs to anyone that can shell out $30k. Nice job, SFU, bringing American-style wholesale based schools to Canada. Screw everyone, you at least, get paid. Master of ... I wonder if I could get a Master's in music in 12 months... but then again, not sure if I could handle the pressure. If I could... another 12 months after that maybe a PhD in Medicine (maybe a plastic surgeon, what do you think?) and 12 months after that maybe a fellowship at Harvard. Seems right.

bethany middleton from Canada writes: Bitter, a little, mahcus? Who are you to suggest that the humanities and social sciences lack rigour? You'll note that industry leaders were requesting a program like this - because they valued the perspectives that humanities and social science graduates bring to their work. Maybe you could learn from that? On the other hand, you seem to have dug your own bitter hole.
