D J from Canada writes: why hasn't a list of products with lot numbers and expiry dates been published? Heparin is sold under trade names - like Fragmin made by Pfizer. Is this included in the recall?

Very true D.J., and I am sure that it is the public's fault for failing to understand that nothing should ever, ever stand in the way of the market and potential profits for shareholders.- Posted 26/03/08 at 12:49 PM EDT | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

even if the damages are in the millions(with loss of lives)

Shades of the tainted tylenol caplets scandal of 2 decades ago.
What kind of closure will the relatives of victims be offered now. A token payment that will never bring the dead back to life.
How about 50 years of community service if found guilty on all charges of product tampering?
These large pharmaceutical companies obtain patents that protect them from generic drugs and they end up charging an arm an a leg for drugs that kill instead of heal. Where is the F.D.A. in all of this, casually sitting in the sidelines waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Stick to the tried and tested reliability of plain old Bayer aspirin. It as been aroung for ages and as not killed anyone yet to the best of my knowledge.
