Berlusconi's flight of fancy
Silvio Berlusconi, billionaire, media magnate, perma-tanned populist and alleged economic liberal, is the probable next prime minister of Italy. A victory in the mid-April elections would land him in the Chigi Palace for the third time and he has apparently convinced voters it's his moral duty to be there. Italy is in trouble and only he has the experience, the credibility and the know-how to restore the country's fortunes.
