Plane came apart in midair, investigators say

CALGARY — The small aircraft that crashed in Alberta last week came apart in midair, investigators said yesterday, as a family tried to come to terms with the loss of relatives from a second air accident mishap in five months. The plane's pilot, Reagan Williams, 41, had told air-traffic control that the aircraft's gyroscope, which helps stabilize the plane, had also malfunctioned.
