Pat Billings from CDN, Canada writes: Gary Roberts has always been subject to a different set of "officiating" standards. Crosschecks, elbows, "clean" checks from behinds, suckerpunches...always go unpunished when they come from Gary.

Len Sens from Laff Nation, Canada writes: Put McGratton in and let him smash Roberts in the face a few times. It won't stop Roberts, but it might rev the Sens up.

Scottish Gary from Toronto, Canada writes: Hmmm where are all the wise a$$ Sens fans now? What, without the Leafs to pick on you are all tight lipped?
Yes my Leafs are golfing, I made peace with that at Xmas, but the Sens, weren't they Cup favorites? No worries, the Leafs won't hog all the tee-times.

Number One Leafs Fan from Toronto, Canada writes: Is it possible for us to annex and relocate Ottawa? The city and the team are softer than butter in summer.
I just loved the crosscheck from behind into the boards on a rookie with 15 seconds left and then calling on the whole team once the refs were in the way! Classic old school Roberts!

You might be on to something there... Combine those two teams and you'd have two solid lines to build around -- maybe get into the second playoff round next year...- Posted 10/04/08 at 11:40 AM EDT | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Jude Hannaford from Canada writes: Ha, nice work Lunch Box. I love it, although niether a Sens or Pens fan I love this kind of hockey player. Does any one remember how close to retiring Roberts was? I'm pleased he didn't. Therrien make a great call sending him out there so early. Hopefully the Sens can make a series out of it.

Are We Having This Conversation ? from Toronto, Canada writes: I was very sad to see Roberts leave Toronto during his time here....now there was a player who worked his butt off....he took the harsh criticisms of playing in Toronto and yet he never lashed out at anyone. He was also very quiet when the media crucified him for being slack and suggesting his retirement. What goes around comes around Toronto....we were quick to let him go and now he's showing the NHL that he still has what it takes to get the job done! Good on'ya Robert!

Dave The Rave from Ottawa, Canada writes: Gary Roberts, the sly fox, 42 years old, fourth line player, scores in the first 68 seconds and twice in the opening game. He knows it's war out there. Ottawa's problem is that they have NO ONE with his combination of experience, skill and guts.
