MDA not ready to give up on space sale
OTTAWA Canada's leading space company and the U.S. defence contractor that wants to buy it are not ready to give up after an unprecedented move by the Canadian government to block the $1.3-billion takeover.
Federal Industry Minister Jim Prentice is prepared to reject the deal, which would see MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (MDA) of Richmond, B.C., sell its space division to Alliant Techsystems Inc.
