VW profit, outlook on the rise

FRANKFURT Volkswagen said Wednesday that improved sales helped lift its first-quarter net profit by more than 25 per cent and predicted a substantial increase in demand for its cars in Asia, Europe and South America.
The Wolfsburg-based company, Europe's biggest car maker by sales, said it earned €929-million in the January-March period, compared with €740-million the year before.
Sales rose 1.
