Canadians face higher food prices

TORONTO — Canadians should brace for higher food prices. The chief executive officer of Maple Leaf Foods Inc. said Thursday the company had no choice but to boost prices in order to cope with soaring commodity costs. “These are stunningly, stunningly challenging times,” Michael McCain told shareholders during the annual meeting in Toronto.
