Only prosperous provinces will benefit from corporate tax cuts

OTTAWA — The federal government's plan to reduce corporate taxes will only benefit the prosperous provinces and won't do anything to stimulate the slowing economies in the rest of the country, shows a study to be released today. The federal Conservatives plan to cut the corporate tax rate by seven percentage points by 2011, at a cost of about $15-billion a year when the measures are fully phased in.
