  1. bor ed from Canada writes: Thank god this no-name didn't sign with Montreal. 37 points in 54 games for a team in the swedish elite league, when did NHL teams get that hard-up?

I'd like to see the $$$ he signed for, maybe I'll go to Sweden.
  2. Pat Billings from CDN, Canada writes: if Fabian is so good, then why isn't he playing at the world championships?? could he not crack the Swedish lineup? is he burnt out after playing 54 games in the Swedish Elite League?
  3. Spencer C from Canada writes: Thank God this media-driven story is over.
  4. Devil Bud from T.O., Canada writes: The guy is getting somewhere in the neighbourhood of a base $875,000, $2.5 mil. if he reaches all his bonuses. All I know is that the base is way too high for a guy who has not proven anything yet. The guy plays against tier II pros. We'll see if he is worth it, but I would argue that he is one lucky Swede.

  6. j wilson from vancouver, Canada writes: JP Barry held a sweepstakes for a second liner and 15 teams showed up.

Don't know if Brunnstrom will ever become anything, but Barry is headed to the agent's hall of fame...
  7. steve allan from Canada writes: This guy is probably the biggest hype job in pro sports ever. His supposed incredible skills and accomplishments are nothing more than an illusion created by his agent, using the internet to boost his client's allure.

The fact is he has never accomplished anything at any level. It's all an illusion. I'm happy it was the Stars who fell for this ruse!
  8. steve allan from Canada writes: By the way, there was no bidding war for this guy. The only team foolish enough to fall for this hype job was the Dallas Stars. Bob Gainey took a pass when he realized the guy was all hype and no substance. The guy isn't even on Team Sweden!
  9. King 99 from Canada writes: I'm suprised the Sens didn't get in on the sweepstakes. They need someone to take over for the old worn out captain. You know a Swede for a Swede. At least this one looks like he's got a future. You need a feeder for that softy Heatly. You know that Heatly that would have a hard time making the Canadian Women's Team. He's found a spot in the soft international team play. You don't have to worry about getting hit here.
  10. Dave The Rave from Ottawa, Canada writes: Who cares? Brunnstrom is a second line player. This whole thing is a tempest in a teapot.
  11. Rob C from Canada writes: ....2nd line player? Let's wait and see about that...Claude, you are such a Claude .
  12. Scot Loucks from Pickering, Canada writes: The kid got 12 minutes of ice time per game in Sweden. JFJ should have signed him last year when he had the chance.

A 23 year old coming into the league on rookie rules.... thats a salary below 1m and bonuses.

There are a lot of Swedes not playing in the worlds.... maybe the 'why' on that one would make a good article.... it's not like they are ripping it up out there.

    Cheers
  13. Proud Canadian from Canada writes: King 99, Rob C. How many of your team members are playing in that SOFT World Championship? Vs how many are doing photo ops at 5 and 10 cent stores in the Golden Horseshoe??? Got an answer. King, Heatley leads all scorers (including Steve Yserman) in the World tournament. Leading scorer for Canada. Where's Tucker on that list? Where is McCabe on that list?
