In the Hollywood black comedy The War of the Roses, a divorcing couple are so selfish, so petty, so blind to anything but their own sense of grievance that they wind up killing themselves by accident. In real life, though, it is usually the children who are harmed irrevocably by parental vindictiveness. That may be the case after an Ontario couple, married just one year, went to war over how much time the father would be allowed to spend with their baby ... uh, toddler ...
