  1. guy tozer from Saskatoon, Canada writes: I used PayPal successfully for a few transactions. Then one day I get an email that my account was debited $100, through a company in Sweden. Never did business or heard of this company. So I canceled and changed my Mastercard , contacted PayPal, and all was corrected in 2 days. I however have still not renewed my PayPal account and likely won't. It is not as secure as everyone there wants you to believe.
  2. Jeremy K from vancouver canada, Canada writes: looks like the right time to launch a rival service that allows various payment options
  3. lyle craver from Vancouver, BC, writes: I am treasurer for a provincial non-profit that used Paypal last year for our biggest event of the year to facilitate online registrations. We do NOT feel we got more registrations because of offering Paypal and while they did their job DO feel transfers from Paypal to our account was slower than expected while the fees were much higher than our store pays VISA and MC and about equal to what Amex charges - which is not much of a recommendation as we dropped them after they would not match VISA/MC whose fees are already higher than Interac. So even requiring Paypal being one of the payment options offered would cause us to think twice about using them again!
  4. Gordon Murray from Canada writes: Those falling loss rates "0.24 per cent, down from 0.33 per cent" sellers might hope aren't simply 'passings along' (or back) to sellers of marginal claims of 'fraud' or 'loss other'.
Maybe it's not that seller loss is less reported/stressed/abandoned-on-contest than it is that efffective policing is up and losses simply down.
While soMethiNg othEr tHan peRfeCt, Paypal still delivers on many fronts for consumers and small businesses.
Many had chips on shoulder, but had another look at the numbers and materiality of payments processed subsequent wasn't enough for like RIDICULOUS rebate ignorances/dodgings.
"Just ignore the rebate noises and basically it's best conveyance.
It's like baby's vomit down your shirt back.
Others have enough posted videos that there's a general index for baby expulsion against textiles domestic, yet towards textiles industries in general.
Just keep saying to yerseLf "GO Textile industries, GO!" and you'll be fine."
  5. Stewart Mawdsley from Canada writes: The few times I have used ebay instead of amazon or chapters is to track down rare items (usually old school video games). I chose sellers with experience and very high (95% ) recommended rates. I sent them a personal cheque or money order, which they cashed and then sent me the merchandise. It's worked out every time. I would be furious if such transfers were made illegal on the site.
  6. three norns from toronto, ontario, Canada writes: my big ish with paypal is i resent having to pay an american company in order to do business with a canadian seller. why should i have to wait a week or more for my money to go south of the border only to come back north again slightly smaller in size? ridiculous.

for canadian sellers, i use email money transfer. it IS secure because i have a verified transaction record through my bank. it's instant - no waiting a week or more. well, okay - sometimes i have to wait a half hour or an hour for the email to come through. and there's no worrying if it's cleared or not. i know immediately what's happening.

if ebay tries to pull the paypal-only in canada, i'll be moving over to craigslist.

  8. Original Six Fan from Canada writes: Gordon Murray, What the hell are you talking about? Go rattle on with your nonsense and smoke another joint and pontificate about something to people who actually give a s--t about your nonsense.
  9. Johnny Canuck from Canada writes: The system would probably be much better if all people used paypal. But I agree that paypal rates are far to high (as are ebay rates.) Canada Posts rates are even moreobscene.
  10. Another Opinion from Toronto, Canada writes: A couple years ago I sold something on E-Bay and last year I bought something. Both transactions were done using PayPal. Since then I haven't touched the account.

Three months ago I get a warning that my account had been frozen because somebody had logged in from an "undesirable" IP address.

I called in and they couldn't tell me who logged in or from where, how they got in, what information they got or what they did while they were in there. I closed my account, changed my Visa number and changed all my online passwords.

Suddenly "convenience" sounds like a dirty word and "off the grid" is looking like a pretty appealling place to be.
