  1. Delta J from Canada writes: The sooner WiMax gets adopted by consumers, the better. But I'm sure Rogers and Bell will have no objections from the government to gouge consumers in yet another piece of communications technology.
Too bad, because WiMax VoIP can potentially mean the end of cell phone networks as we know them.
  2. Gordon Murray from Canada writes: Do implications of typings by Delta dawn on us?
"DIBS!" one can practically hear the current phone/cell networks shout, towards protecting investors and the continual present of such governments as stability based.

Just how much the support of my " 'ancient' in just one year" cell phone ("How few of the services in this package can my phone deliver??? How few???") will FALL may not be of interest to other parties, but those 3 year contracts subject to hundreds of dollars of penalties for EARLY abandon aren't so distant relations that at least SOME interest in OUR defence, yes "OUR" defence, should be considered, basically mandatory...almost like sorta mandatory.
  3. Joseph Whistle from Canada writes: I wonder if it's possible for wimax service providers to intentionally add lag to the connection, making it not very good for voip use. We better make sure that Rogers doesn't get to take control over Wimax... But they probably have a few slimy friends in places so they probably will be able to create another monopoly.
  4. Albin Forone from Canada writes: I guess Toronto Hydro is just "wi fi" not "max" but wonder if the latter has the same problem with lack of signal penetration into buildings. Maybe some combination of this with power line broadband inside would work. I won't go nuts investing in this until it's proven beyond hype.
