CALGARY The Southern Alberta Marijuana Investigation Team has uncovered what it calls a very large and sophisticated marijuana grow operation in Calgary.
Police say more than 2,400 marijuana plants were found in a southwest residence Friday.
They say they were called after a member of the public entered the house, which was supposed to have been unoccupied.
They also discovered that the people running the grow operation had been stealing electricity, and had set up a large remote surveillance system.
Police say it's believed to be the largest residential grow operation that the team – a joint initiative between the RCMP and the Calgary police force – has encountered.
