  1. Dave The Rave from Ottawa, Canada writes: Ribeiro's own assessment shows why Montreal is now better off with Tomas Plekanec. Ribeiro plays a terrible Game 1, losing seventy per cent of his draws and being a non-presence; and all he can offer is platitudes. When Plekanec was underperforming he came clean and admitted it with self-deprecating humor ('I played like a girl'). At least Coach Tippett is honest enough to tell it like it is. Hopefully his players will get the message (Morrow and Turco's fine efforts notwithstanding). Otherwise this series is Wings in five.
  2. Bill Weston from Grand Rapids, MI, United States writes: "We have to play harder, compete better, win the one-on-one battles, stay disciplined, play as a team and finish our checks like we're supposed to - just play better," said Ribiero. "That's about it. And just keep smiling; it's only one game; you cannot still think about what happened yesterday; just focus on the next game."

Now why didnt Nashville or Colorado figure that out if its so simple? I swear, every player recites the same things over and over again.. "we need to play better, be more focused, win the faceoffs, its only one game, blah blah blah". Its the same for the winning team, its always "we expect them to come out harder next game". Is there a book of cliches somewhere that these guys all use? If it was that simple and easy to just instantly correct all those things against the Red Wings, Colorado would have done it, Nashville would have done it, teams would have done it all season long! Detroit simply doesnt let you do all those things better than they do.

Ribiero, Richards, Tippet would have all been better off just saying honestly "We can only hope the Wings screw up big time, its our only hope for not going down 2-0 in this series."
  3. Richard Hawrelak from Sarnia, Canada writes: Anyone notice the differnce in intensity betweem the Dallas/Detroit series and the Philly/Pittsburg series? It's like night and day. No wonder the Detroit fans are staying away in droves ... and in Detroit ... Hockey Town U.S.A. ... for heavan's sake.
