CLEVELAND – It's done, gone, over.
Time for a Cleveland evening sans baseball. There is joy in Mudville.
They officially pulled the plug on this damp puppy at 2:20 p.m. (EST), postponing it until Monday where the Jays and Cleveland will engage in a traditional doubleheader, with the first game beginning at 4:05 p.m.
The second game will begin about 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game.
This is just what A.J. Burnett needs – another day of rest to help him go after his fourth win of the year.
For you stat-heads out there, the Jays last played in a traditional doubleheader on Sept. 29, 2004, in Baltimore, losing both games.
The last time the Jays played a split doubleheader (two gates) was on Sept. 27, 2005 in Boston where they split a pair against the Red Sox.
