Morland stumbles on final day of Nationwide event

Canadian Press

FORT SMITH, ARK. — David Morland IV missed a chance to give Canada back-to-back Nationwide Tour titles after shooting a final round of 2-over 72 and finishing tied for 12th at the Fort Smith Classic.

Morland, form Aurora, Ont., entered the final round tied for fourth and five shots off the lead, but fell out of contention with bogeys on the 16th and 17th holes.

Bryan DeCorso of Guelph, Ont., won last week's Nationwide tournament. He failed to make the cut this weekend at Hardscrabble Country Club.

Colt Knost won the tournament, moving from a tie for ninth into the lead with a final round of 65.

Victoria's Jim Rutledge, the only other Canadian to make the cut, finished tied for 53rd.
