  1. David Stevens from Montreal, Canada writes: Beautiful girl. Terrible voice. The tone of Sinéad but not a pretty sound. I pass.
  2. Stewart Mawdsley from Canada writes: Agreed - I like when actors have good voices (Queen Latifah, Gwynneth Paltrow, James Marsters and Maggie Gyllenhall come to mind) but that song is wretched and Johanssen's voice is flat and drab.
  3. Brenton Walters from vancouver, Canada writes: Queen Latifah was a singer (rapper) before she was an actor, so she's more a singer that can act. An odd song by SJ, to be sure. Velvet Underground & Nico-esque, but not nearly as charismatic.
  4. Jacques Shellac from Montreal, Canada writes: I find the sound really quite intriguing, definitely nico-esque. I'm looking forward to picking this up, as a die-hard Tom Waits fan.

Just don't ever let me hear her referred to as ScarJo, again please. Otherwise I will not be responsible for my actions, which may include writing a terse letter to the editor, and possibly kicking my neighbour's dog. Won't somebody think of the puppy?
  5. Albin Forone from Canada writes: Scarlett sounds a bit like Niko, or late Marianne Faithfull (e.g. Rich Kid Blues) - doesn't take polish but a certain quality of intelligent person, run over by existential bus, to carry off a Tom Waits song. Moving into her 30s she might have it now.
  6. Jeff Canadian from Toronto, Canada writes: Saw the Heavy at Lee's Palace on Saturday night.... amazing! Read your NOW or EYE to find out the next time they are in town, they will blow your mind.
  7. No Name Necessary from Canada writes: everyone who's an actor wants to sing, and singers want to act and models want to do both....
  8. Kendall Defoe from Montreal, Canada writes: The only actor who seems to be able to sing is Zooey Deschanel. Check out her recent album with M. Ward. They are called "She and Him" and the album is "Volume One". A promise of more to come? We'll see.
And Miss (soon-to-be-Mrs) Johansson, you cannot hide your voice behind heavy background noise. Stick with the films.
