The Read: The New Science of Perfect Skin

Globe and Mail Update

While we're big fans of the DIY approach for almost everything else, skin care is one of those things you must entrust to a pro.
Enter Daniel Yarosh, a doctor who has long been recognized for his research in DNA repair. His laboratory, AGI Dermatics, has invented skin-care ingredients for products by such makeup giants as L'Oréal and Shiseido, so it's safe to say the man knows what he's talking about.
With his book, The New Science of Perfect Skin, Yarosh aims to create a "beauty bible" that will not only tell you what's best for your particular type of skin, but also bust myths about what products and ingredients are too good to be true (particularly useful is the section that warns you how to spot fraudulent advertising claims).
Some chapters read a bit jargony a times, but Yarosh is quick to explain any major terms and concepts so your understanding can be as clear as your skin will (hopefully) be by the book's end.
$27.95 (ISBN: 978-0-7679-2539-6), available at all major booksellers.
