Any day this guy sits on the bench is a day Gibbons looks bad.
  2. Ryan Hickman from Canada writes: I wouldn't say the Jays are hot. They've done this before. Win a few, lose a few. Until this team puts together a 6 or 7 game winning streak, it's status quo.

Nice to see Halladay get the win. A weird game for him to say the least.
  3. R OBryan from ottawa, Canada writes: HOT????? does this guy not have the vocabulary to properly describe a team that won despite their need for an offense. 6 hits in the game and 3 in the first inning and this is hot?? By the end of the year these jays will show that pitching isn't everything. They have the potential to have the best pitching in baseball and the worst hitting and end up in last place if they don't make some changes NOWWWWWWWWWWW! Not that Reed Johnson was a huge hitter but he got things going.... why drop him for Shannon Stewart who is so slow now he can't beat out a single anymore.
  4. Eric Hunter from Canada writes: They win again, and you people are STILL complaining... sad. Why not go study what the Leafs are doing. You'd fit right in with a Leafs fan.
  5. Dwide Schrude from Canada writes: A few things (as always)

These guys are only 4 games behind, they were 6 back a few days ago. That's good. They are still 2 games below .500, that's bad.

All told, Rios still isn't hitting. Anyone who saw the game last night saw Stairs showing Rios how to hit. What? Didn't Rios almost win the home run derby last year? How do you forget to hit? He's probably been playing since he was 5!!! It speaks to weak coaching I think.

Anyway, all is not lost, but let's not get too excited until these guys are at least above .500 and out of the basement in the East.
  6. A Realist from Canada writes: Shannon Stewart can't beat out a base hit? Huh? Do you guys even watch the games?
  7. Dwide Schrude from Canada writes: I have to agree with Realist, Stewart still has wheels. He may have lost a step but remember that he was a rocket in the past. He's still probably third or fourth fastest in the lineup. Also, he's hitting. Stewart is the least of our worries.
  8. boom boom from Canada writes: At least the Jays are winning some games. Can't say the same about the Tigers.
  9. Ryan Campbell from Canada writes: Starting to win games when Wells is gone for 6 weeks and Rios has looked like he belongs in AA ball for the past 10 days. Is it me or does Rios look totally lost at the plate? After ever strikeout, he walks back to the dugout with his chest all puffed out, nose in the air looking like a deer in the headlights. Why does every hitter who recieves a big contract from the jays suddenly turn into a lame duck?? Wells, Rios, Hill, Frank, etc..etc.
