Family-held mortgage gives couple wiggle room
In Toronto, a couple we'll call Henry, 46, and Susan, 45, have a secure financial life. Their gross income, about $135,000 depending on their annual bonuses, easily covers their expenses – including the costs of raising their four-year-old daughter – and the travel they enjoy.
There are worries, however. “Neither of us has or will have a pension and we are concerned that our late start in saving will come back to haunt us,” Susan explains.
