Dig Deeper from Canada writes: At some point you need to ask "what are these terrorists hoping to accomplish?". The ETA has been waging this battle for a separate state for decades yet has succeeded at NOTHING. Obviously the vast majority of Basques don't care for the initiative or they would have spoken up by now.
What they have not learned is that Terrorists have never succeeded at their goals. Not one single group has gotten their way. The world is too big and populous for anyone to really care about the terrorists activities. Sure we get upset for a short time and each event is unfortunate but then the masses move on, back to their daily lives and their own problems. Even the effect of 9/11 on the US population was relatively short lived.
