B.C. medical team heads to China

THE CANADIAN PRESS

VANCOUVER — Medical professionals from around B.C.'s Lower Mainland are on their way to China to help with relief efforts.

A disaster assessment team consisting of two paramedics, a pair of Chinese-speaking physicians and an emergency room doctor will treat the injured in Chengdu.

The group will carry enough medicine to treat 10,000 people.

Another 10-member team is on stand-by.
