Hurricane forecast is ‘alarmist': expert

HALIFAX — The Canadian Hurricane Centre says recent long-term forecasts from the United States and Britain calling for a busy Atlantic hurricane season are virtually meaningless for Canadians. With the season starting June 1, leading American and British researchers are calling for between six and 10 hurricanes.
