Drop the lawsuit against the Liberals

In the complex web of charges and countercharges that enveloped the so-called Cadman Affair, Canada's Prime Minister has ended up suing the Liberal Party for $2.5-million in damages. Written pleadings have recently been exchanged, and the case is on its way to trial. Why is Stephen Harper suing the Liberals? For their saying, among other things, that he knew that Conservative Party officials tried to bribe MP Chuck Cadman.
