  1. Pat Billings from CDN, Canada writes: He has 24 points (9-15) and a plus-22 rating in 94 career NHL games.

$14 mln!!!!! Fletch is wheeling and dealing.

I wish there were odds-makers for who wil be bought next summer.
    My money is on Fingers.
  2. Scottish Gary from Boston, Canada writes: Unreal, the Leafs give a 28 year former 8th round pick who has a total of 94 games played in his career $3.5 million! With moves like this it really makes you wonder why it took so long to get us into the sad state we are today. Hell, though a year shorter it is the same deal Raycroft got.

It is exceedingly hard sometimes trying to keep faith and root for the Leafs
  3. Tim Cares from Canada writes: Yep, that Cliff is real smart. I don't have anything against the player but why give him so much?
  4. John O'Meara from At the Bay, Canada writes: One word: pathetic! Has Fletcher been drinking the same Kool-Aid as JFJ?
  5. Wally Grisold from Toronto, Canada writes: Never heard of him!
  6. Wally Grisold from Toronto, Canada writes: Now Peddie can really give the fans the finger.
  7. fred kos from Canada writes: cliff is up to his old ways. I was glad when leafs got rid of him. old foolish goat!
  8. Pudge Canuck from TO, Canada writes: Finger is a solid DMAN. He hits, blocks shots, and plays a good 2 way game. He is not great but solid. $3.5MM a year might seem too much but look what DMan are getting. The question is, is this what the leafs need now.
  9. Neil Raynor from Canada writes: if it was $2 million a year, who would try and outbid them? i bet if he had gotten a four-years/$8 million deal, we would STILL be saying they paid too much, but they'd keep the other half to themselves. giving a guy a bump from LEAGUE MINIMUM to three and a half mil per year is only called for when there's a bidding war.

You think Finger thought it was a joke when his agent called him with the news?

  10. Lee Denike from Mississauga, Canada writes: ............who is Leaf Nation givving the Finger to??
  11. Rene L from somewhere, Canada writes: I think Cliff just had a "senior's" moment...
  12. jimmie rabbit from toronto, Canada writes: the leafs hired finger to give them a hand
  13. Another Opinion from Toronto, Canada writes: That's funny.

I've been giving the Leafs the finger for years. I never thought they'd actually accept.
  14. Dave The Rave from Ottawa, Canada writes: If Finger plays the point, we can look forward to a deluge of 'clever' headlines from sports scribes. And a lot of Finger pointing.
  15. Ed Op from Canada writes: So the guy made the league minimum last year but we're signing him to 4 years at $3.5 mil per. Brilliant! Just f-in' brilliant! I know we need D, but really - they couldn't sign him for $1.5 or $2 mil? Didn't Hal Gill make $1.5 mil or something? I haven't seen Finger play, but Gill was pretty solid in there. Did all right with the Pens through the playoffs. I guess Fletch is looking for mobility and is willing to pay for it.
  16. Francisco Imperio from London, writes: For what its worth, Finger made Darren Dregger's list of top 10 UFA Defensemen. TSN asked a group of 12 general managers, coaches and player agents to submit a list of the defencemen expected to generate the most attention and Finger was #10.

  17. Wally Grisold from Toronto, Canada writes: Now when the Leaf defense make a mistake or screws up (heaven forbid) they can always point the "Finger" at McCabe or any other lamp post that guards the Leaf blue-line.
