Does the Order of Canada stand for unity or recognition?
The appointment of Henry Morgentaler to the Order of Canada has, understandably, generated a great deal of discussion among members of the public, including both sides of the abortion debate. To some degree, this is a positive thing in that it has forced many Canadians to think about what the order is and what its members represent.
