Norampac shutting Toronto boxbord plant

Forestry giant Cascades Inc. is shutting down a Toronto boxboard plant, affecting 140 employees, while investing in new technology the company says will preserve 160 jobs at a Quebec tissue-making operation.
Cascades announced Wednesday its Norampac division is closing its Toronto boxboard mill indefinitely, affecting 140 employees. The shutdown, effective no later than Sept.
